A celebration of bears, teddies and Ladybird Books.

If you go down to the museum today, you're sure of a big surprise!
This summer, Charnwood Museum is celebrating its 25th birthday by gathering together an adorable array of teddy bears from Leicestershire's Museum Collections.

At the heart of the exhibition are three bears in the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, perhaps one of the most popular fairy tales. The famous Ladybird Books of Loughborough first published a version of this story in the 1940s. It was published again in 1971 with illustrations by Eric Winter as part of the Well-Loved Tales series. All the original illustrations by Eric Winter are on display.
But it is not just the bare necessities - all sorts of furry friends feature. Many are popular characters from bedtime stories, stage and screen, while some may be new to you. Come and meet them all.
